The approved Route 18 is estimated to cost about $206.8m, excluding station costs, and is the fourth lowest cost route among all proposed routes, Texas state regulators said in their Jan. 13 final order.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said that of the 11 routes evaluated, Route F appears to best minimize adverse impacts to natural resources, as, for instance, it does not cross riparian woodlands or brushland.
