The West Roxbury to Needham Reliability Project is a planned overhead and underground, 115-kV transmission line that will run between the existing Baker Street and Needham substations. About 1.6 miles will travel overhead, while the remaining will be buried underground. The project is needed to ensure reliability at a cost of $40.2m and in-service date of 2019.
