West of McNary Reinforcement Project is a 79-mile, 500-kV transmission line that originates at McNary and terminates at John Day, Ore. The project, which was sponsored by Bonneville Power Administration, finished 10 months ahead of schedule in February 2012. This early completion saved nearly $140 million in the projects total cost.
