Vantage to Pomona Heights 230 kV Transmission Line Project

The Vantage-Pomona Heights project involves a planned 230kv line that originates at the Vantage substation in Vantage, WA, and terminates at the Pomona Heights substation near the town of Selah, WA. The Bureau of Land Management recently approved the final preferred route of the planned transmission line, which will wrap around the nearby U.S. Army’s Yakima Traning Center on the south before traveling northeast towards the town of Mattawa, WA. The purpose of the planned line is to address reliability reasons in the region. A final EIS was issued in October 2016.   Construction will begin in mid 2018, with completion expected in early 2020
