The Stewart Road Project involves a new 345-kV, double-circuit transmission between AEP Texas’s Stewart Road substation and Sharyland Utilities Palmito substation. The project has 15 alternative routes filed, ranging from 4.9 miles to 9.27 miles in length and an estimated cost of $16m to $28m depending on the final route selected. The project is needed to address load growth and reliability around Hildalgo County, Texas, and has a completion date of 2020.
