Xcel Energy Transmission is proposing to build, own, and operate 600 megawatts (MW) of new wind generation, an approximately 83-mile 345-kV transmission line, and two new substations in eastern Colorado. The proposed 345-kV transmission line will connect the wind farm to our existing Missile Site Substation in Arapahoe County. Pending approvals by county governments, construction on the project began in Spring 2017. The proposed in-service date for the Rush Creek project is October 2018. The estimated cost is $120M.
