The RTI Zone 4 to Harry Allen project is a 40-mile 500 kV line running from the Delamar Valley to Harry Allen. Construction is expected to begin in 2013 and be completed in 2015. The project is needed to move solar generation from Delamar Valley and areas approximatley 40-60 miles north of Las Vegas to Harry Allen and then on to Eldorado. On July 27, 2012, NV Energy announced that it has dropped plans to build a set of power lines to help export renewable energy to California because of a lack of interest from renewable developers.
