The RTI Dixie-Oreana project is a 41-mile, 345 kV transmission line that will run northwest to a new 345 kV Oreana substation along the Valmy Tracy double circuit 345 kV corridor. The project is designed to move renewable energy from NV Energy RTI zone 1 for export to California and the Desert Southwest. On July 27, 2012, NV Energy announced that it has dropped plans to build a set of power lines to help export renewable energy to California because of a lack of interest from renewable developers.
