Riverside (Calif.) Public Utilities’ Riverside Transmission Reliability Project includes approximately 10 miles of new double-circuit 230-kV transmission line. The project also includes a new 230/69 kV electrical substation and about 11 miles of new 69-kV lines. The new 230-kV line would connect the proposed substation, located on RPU-owned land to existing 230-kV transmission lines owned by Southern California Edison. Six new 69 kV lines would also connect the proposed substation to RPU’s electrical system, according to RPU. The approximately $222m project is expected to be completed in 2023.
