The Monticello East to Reed 230 kV project involves the construction of new line and the upgrade of existing lines and switching stations in southeast Arkansas. The project involves 24 miles of new 230-kV line between substations located in Drew and Desha counties. The new line will intially be operated at 115 kV and change over to 230 kV at a later date. The project is being coordinated with an overall expansion plan consisting of four additional projects in southeast Arkansas. Filing of a CECPN and public hearings are scheduled for the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2013. The ROW survey and clearning contracts are expected during the later part of 2014. Construction of the initial transmission line segment from the Monticello East Substation to the Monticello Industrial Park development will start in the fourth quarter of 2016 and be completed by mid-year 2016. All remaining transmission line construction will have an in-service date of 2019.
