
Maine Power Reliability Project is a 440-mile, 345-kV transmission line that originates at Eliot and terminates at Orrington, Maine. The project, which is sponsored by Central Maine Power Co., was completed summer 2015. The $1.45 billion project included the construction of six new substations and expansion or modification to 40 other substations. The project is the largest in the states history with work being done in 13 of the 16 Maine counties. It includes the new construction of 184 miles of 345 kV and 100 miles of 115 kV, as well as 156 miles of rebuild.
