Greater Hartford – Central Connecticut Reliability Project

Eversource is proposing to construct a new underground 115-kV transmission line in the Greater Hartford and central Connecticut area, in order to ensure reliable power that keeps wit national and regional standards. The 3.8-mile underground line would be constructed between the Newington Substation in Newington, Connecticut, and the Southwest Hartford Substation in Hartford, passing through portions of Newington, West Hartford and Hartford. The project also includes substation upgrades. The start of construction, pending all approvals, is Q2 2018, with an estimated in-service date of Q2 2019. The estimated cost, including the substation upgrades, is $99M.
