
Great Plains (Kansas V-Plan) is a 122-mile, 345-kV transmission line that originates at Spearville, Kansas and terminates at Thistle substation near Medicine Lodge, Kansas. The project, sponsored by ITC Holdings Corp., cost $300 million and was put into service December 2014. The V-Plan is an EHV line designed to connect east and west Kansas and improve reliability. It will also enable renewable energy companies to tap into the high voltage grid.
