The proposed Grand Prairie Gateway Project is a 345-kV transmission line that will run approximately 57 miles between the Byron and Wayne substations. The addition of the new line will allow for greater efficiency and reliability in the region. Construction of the project began in October 2015, and it has an in-service date of 2017 at an estimated cost of $277m. The cost reflects line construction and substation development.
