Estes to Flatiron, proposed by Western Area Power Administration, is a 17-mile, 115-kV transmission line, originating at Estes Substation and terminating at Flatiron Substation, CO. Western Area Power Administration is planning to replace 32 miles of power lines (originally placed in service in 1938 and 1953) between Estes Park and Flatiron Reservoir with one 16-mile route holding both lines south of town along U.S. 36.
