Puget Sound Energy is planning the Energize Eastside transmission project, which involves 18 miles of a new 230-kV transmission line between Redmond and Renton, WA. There are currently many different routes proposed for the project, some of which include being located in existing 115-kV right of way. The project is needed to increase capacity and enhance reliability in Seattle. Initial cost estimates for the project range from $176m to $154m, based on project route.
