The Church to Steele Transmission Project involves 25.5 miles of 138-kV construction. The pole structures will be capable of carrying 230-kV double circuit if needed in the future. The project originates at the Church substation in Queen Anne county and terminates at the Steele substation in Carolina County. The project is estimated to cost $29.6m. Construction is expected to commence in February, 2016 with an online date of May 31, 2017. The project is needed to improve reliability in region. Delmarva Power & Light filed the CPCN application in October, 2014.
