Chinook, is a 1000-mile line, 500-kV DC transmission line from Harlowton, MT, west to Townsend, then south to Borah and then south through eastern Nevada to the Eldorado Valley, NV. The project will enable up to 3,000 MW of electricity generated in Montana delivered to the Las Vegas area. The project is proposed by TransCanada Energy. The current in-service date for Chinook is 2021.
