
Entergy Texas is proposing to build an approximate 10-15 mile transmission line in Jefferson County, TX. The 230-kV line would run from the existing China to the Amerlia Bulk substation. The project is estimated to cost approximately $31m with construction expected to begin by September 2015 with an in-service date of June 2016. The PUCT (Public Utilities Commission of Texas) approved the CCN (Certificate of Convenience and Necessity) for this project in March, 2014. The project includes significant upgrades at the two substations. The project is designed to address the forecasted transmission needs in the Beaumont, TX, region. As of July 28, 2016, this project has been completed at a cost of $30M.
