The Brazos Valley Connection project, part of the greater Houston Region Import Capacity Project, is a planned 345-kV double circuit transmission line that will have a length of 60 to 78 miles. The line will address predicted future reliability issues in the Houston region. The project, along with Cross Texas Transmission’s Gibbons Creek to Limestone project, make up the Houston Region Import Capacity Project that has a project cost at nearly $590m (2018 dollars) and an estimated completion date of mid 2018. Project construction began on February 6, 2017, with North Houston Pole Line as contractor. Completion is expected in 2018.
