The Bay Lake Project is a planned multi-value project that involves transmission improvements across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and northeastern region of Wisconsin. Due to the changes in demand, addition online capacity and reliablity concerns, ATC is proposing to build approximately 110 miles of 138-kV rated transmission line and 40-48 miles of 345-kV rated transmission line. The 345-kV and part of the total 138-kV transmission line additions will run from the North Appleton substation to the Morgan substation. The remainder of the 138-kV will between the Old Mead Road and Holmes substations. The project is estimated to cost $421m. The Holmes Road to Old Mead section has been completed; North Appleton to Morgan is under construction, with in service targeted for late 2018.
