The Abernathy to Wadsworth project involves a new 345-kV transmission line in Hale and Lubbock counties, TX. The new line will be 32 – 50 miles in length depending on the final route and is needed to move a portion of Lubbock Power and Light’s system from the SPP grid to ERCOT. Sharyland Utilities expects to complete the project in 2021. According to THUB calculations, the project has an estimated cost of approximately $77m.
