Virtual public information meetings scheduled in December for three solar projects in Ohio

One of the proposed solar projects would have a maximum total generating capacity of up to 300 MW

Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy LLC, in a Nov. 25 pre-application notification letter filed with the Ohio Power Siting Board, said that it will host a virtual public information meeting on Dec. 14 regarding the proposed Pleasant Prairie Solar Project.

The solar-powered electric generation facility is proposed to be located in Pleasant and Prairie townships in Franklin County, Ohio, Pleasant Prairie said, adding that the facility would be located on about 2,500 acres, and have a maximum total generating capacity of up to 250 MW.

Construction is anticipated to begin as early as 2Q21, resulting in commercial operations in 4Q23, Pleasant Prairie said.

In a separate Nov. 25 pre-application notification letter, Yellow Wood Solar Energy LLC told the board that it will host a public information meeting on Dec. 17 regarding the proposed Yellow Wood Solar Project, which is proposed to be located in Clark and Jefferson townships in Clinton County, Ohio.

The solar-powered electric generation facility would be sited on about 2,700 acres, and have a maximum total generating capacity of up to 300 MW.

Yellow Wood Solar also said that construction is anticipated to begin as early as 2Q21, resulting in commercial operations in 4Q23.

In another Nov. 25 pre-application notification letter, Cadence Solar Energy LLC told the board that it will host a virtual public information meeting on Dec. 18 regarding the proposed Cadence Solar Project.

The solar-powered electric generation facility is proposed to be located in York, Liberty, and Taylor townships in Union County, Ohio, Cadence Solar said, adding that the facility would be sited on about 5,100 acres, and have a maximum total generating capacity of up to 275 MW.

Construction is anticipated to begin as early as 2Q22, resulting in commercial operations in 4Q23, Cadence Solar said.

Pleasant Prairie, Yellow Wood Solar, and Cadence Solar each noted that it anticipates filing an application with the board within 90 days of its respective public information meeting.
