California ISO selects LS Power subsidiary to build 500-kV dynamic reactive support project

According to the ISO’s Feb. 28 project sponsor selection report, the ISO solicited proposals for 500 MVAr of dynamic reactive support devices to be installed in either of two alternative configurations connected either to the 500-kV transmission lines between the Round Mountain substation Table Mountain substation owned by Pacific Gas and Electric or separately to the Round Mountain substation at 230 kV and to the Table Mountain substation at 230 kV
