Eversource Energy on Sept. 29 filed a petition with the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU) requesting that the DPU grant individual and comprehensive zoning exemptions from the operation of the Boston Zoning Code in connection with the company’s proposed modifications to an existing substation.
According to Great River Energy’s website, Great River Energy is building about 22.5 miles of new 115-kV overhead transmission line in southern Hubbard County and northern Wadena County to ensure the reliability of electric service to the members of Todd-Wadena Electric Cooperative.
A company spokesperson on Oct. 3 told TransmissionHub that the project has a cost of $14.5m.
PGE joins Arizona Public Service, Puget Sound Energy, NV Energy, PacifiCorp, and CAISO, together serving more than 38 million consumers in California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada, CAISO said in its Oct. 2 statement.
As noted in the Texas regulators’ order, the project is needed to energize the new Coates substation that will be used to serve large industrial and commercial loads at the southern end of Sharyland’s Stanton division in west Texas, which is a remote area that is singly certificated to Sharyland.
