Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation on May 31 said that if approved, the Baltz Lake Project would supply a new 161-kV transmission line (Ingram Line), about eight miles in length, to be built by Clay County Electric Cooperative Corporation to supply the new Ingram 161-24.9-kV substation.
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio staff said that the $11.2m project is needed to improve the quality and reliability of electric service and to expand the electric transmission system to meet anticipated growth in the Clark County area for the near future.
Dominion Energy Virginia and Virginia State Corporation Commission staff on May 26 filed comments in response to a report by a hearing examiner regarding the company’s proposed 500-kV rebuild project in Virginia.
Written comments may also be filed by Sept. 15, the Maryland Public Service Commission said.
The company proposes to rebuild, relocate and replace a number of facilities and lines in and around the company’s existing Idylwood substation in Falls Church, Va., staff said, adding that no new easements would be required for the project.
A public hearing will be held on June 22 at the Michigan Public Service Commission in Lansing, Mich., regarding Indiana Michigan Power’s request for commission approval of an overall rate increase of about $51.7m, or about 17%, according to a May 22 commission document.
The Virginia State Corporation Commission said that its staff and any interested party is to file by May 31 comments on Dominion’s petition, and that Dominion is to file a reply to any comments by June 7.
The New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission on May 25 denied motions for rehearing of an April 6 order in which the commission determined that, in relation to the Northern Pass electric transmission project, Eversource Energy had made a prima facie showing that it has legal authority to lease and divide the rights of certain easements it holds to Northern Pass Transmission LLC.
While the engineering for the new, future substation has not yet been finalized, PPL Electric said that it anticipates that construction on the new substation will begin around 4Q17.
