Heavy rain and thunderstorms from the central Gulf Coast to Southeast

Thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected from eastern Texas across the Lower Mississippi Valley to the Southeast on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

This rain could lead to flash flooding. Some of the thunderstorms could be severe in this area, producing damaging wind and tornadoes. Meanwhile, heavy rain will also spread into the Northwest U.S., with heavy snow in the higher elevations of the Cascades and northern Rockies.
