Cypress Creek wins North Carolina nod on 75-MW Mount Moriah Solar project

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on Dec. 13 approved an Oct. 11 application from the Mount Moriah Solar LLC affiliate of Cypress Creek Renewables for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 75-MW (ac) project.

This photovoltaic facility will be located along Mt. Moriah Church Road, near the intersection with County Line Road, in Hamlet, Richmond County, North Carolina.

The facility is projected to come on-line as of Sept. 1, 2018. The facility owner plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Progress pursuant to a power purchase agreement. The service life of the $141.8 million project is expected to be approximately 35 years. The projected annual sales are expected to be about 155,232,000 kWh.
