North Carolina commission okays 5-MW Sun Farm V solar project

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on Oct. 31 approved a July 7 application from Sun Farm V LLC for a certificate of public convenience and necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project on US Hwy 17 in Perquimans County.

The facility is due to go on-line as of Sept. 15, 2017. The plan is to sell the output of this $11.5 million project to Virginia Electric and Power d/b/a Dominion North Carolina Power.
