The North Carolina Utilities Commission on Nov. 29 approved a Sept. 2 application from the Mt. Olive Solar 2 LLC affiliate of FLS Energy for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity authorizing construction of a 20-MW (ac) solar facility to be located in Wayne County, N.C.
The address of the facility is 1144 S Breazeale Ave., Mount Olive. The projected date for the facility to come on-line is Aug. 15, 2017. All electricity will be sold to Duke Energy Progress. The projected annual sales are 35,308,176 AC kWh.
Said the Nov. 29 approval: “After careful consideration, the Commission finds good cause to approve the application and issue the attached certificate for the proposed solar photovoltaic electric generating facility. The Commission further finds good cause, based upon the foregoing and the entire record in this proceeding, to accept registration of the facility as a new renewable energy facility.”
