FLS Energy gets North Carolina nod on 5-MW Saw Solar project

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on Oct. 31 approved a Sept. 2 application from Saw Solar LLC for a certificate of public convenience and necessity for construction of a 4.999-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic facility to be located near the intersection of Goodnight Lake Road and Saw Road, China Grove, Rowan County, North Carolina.

The applicant, which is an affiliate of FLS Energy, plans to sell the electricity generated by this facility to Duke Energy Carolinas. The projected date for the facility to come on-line is Aug. 15, 2018. The projected annual sales for the project are 9,800,000 kWh.
