Cypress Creek seeks approval for 35-MW Pelham Solar project in North Carolina

The Pelham Solar LLC affiliate of Cypress Creek Renewables applied Nov. 18 to the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for a 35-MW (ac) facility that will be located along Old U.S. 29, east of Anderson Road, in Pelham, Caswell County, North Carolina.

The facility is projected to come on-line as of Oct. 1, 2018. The facility owner plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Carolinas pursuant to a power purchase agreement.

The service life of the project is expected to be around 35 years. The projected annual sales of the facility are expected to be about 71,868,700 kWh. The estimated project cost is $66.15 million.
