Cypress Creek pursues okay for 80-MW Phobos Solar project in North Carolina

The Phobos Solar LLC affiliate of Cypress Creek Renewables on Nov. 17 applied at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on an 80-MW (ac) solar facility that will be located along Frazier Road, near its intersection with Old Nash Road, in Middlesex, Nash County, North Carolina.

The facility is projected to come on-line as of June 1, 2019. The facility owner plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Progress pursuant to a power purchase agreement.

The service life of the $151.2 million project is expected to be approximately 35 years. The projected annual sales of the facility are expected to be approximately 161,512,000 kWh.
