Cypress Creek pursues North Carolina nod on 80-MW Marley Solar project

The Marley Solar LLC affiliate of Cypress Creek Renewables on Nov. 18 applied with the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on an 80-MW (ac) facility that will be located along NC Hwy 58, north of Lightwood Knot Road, in Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina.

The facility is projected to come on-line is as of Oct. 1, 2020. The facility owner plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Progress pursuant to a power purchase agreement.

The service life of the project is expected to be approximately 35 years. The projected annual sales of this $151.2 million facility are expected to be about 159,450,800 kWh.
