Cypress Creek pursues North Carolina nod on 58-MW Union Solar project

The Union Solar LLC affiliate of Cypress Creek Renewables applied Nov. 21 to the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 58-MW (ac) facility that will be located along South Rocky River Road, near its intersection with Old Hwy Road, in Monroe, Union County, North Carolina.

The facility is projected to come on-line as of Oct. 1, 2018. The facility owner plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Carolinas pursuant to a power purchase agreement.

The service life of the project is expected to be about 35 years. The projected annual sales are expected to be approximately 119,116,300 kWh. The project cost estimate is $109.6 million.
