North Carolina commission okays 5-MW Williams Solar project of GreenGo

Williams Solar LLC scored an Oct. 25 approval by the North Carolina Utilities Commission of a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) facility that will be located at 8185 Harper House Road at Newton Grove in Johnston County.

The projected date for the facility to come on-line is Sept. 1, 2017. The applicant’s plan is to sell the output to Duke Energy Progress. The estimated project cost is $7.8 million.

Also, GreenGo Energy affiliate Acme Solar LLC was approved Oct. 25 by the commission for a certificate on a 5-MW (ac) project to be located at 445 Fertilizer Road, Riegelwood, Columbus County. It is due on-line as of Sept. 1, 2017, with output to be sold to Duke Energy Progress. The project cost is $7.8 million.
