Headwaters Solar wins North Carolina nod on 5-MW Woodington project

The Woodington Solar LLC affiliate of Headwaters Solar won an Oct. 4 approval from the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) facility that would come on-line as of Sept. 1, 2017, and sell output to Duke Energy Progress.

The $7.8 million facility will be located off of Woodington Road, approximately 1,644 feet west of the intersection of Woodington Road and Shipman Road, in Hope Mills, Cumberland County, N.C. The application was filed on Aug. 1.
