Grid agreements filed for three Portal Ridge solar projects in California

Portal Ridge Solar B LLC filed Oct. 17 with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a Second Amended and Restated Shared Facilities Common Ownership Agreement by and among Portal Ridge Solar B (PRS-B), Portal Ridge Solar A LLC (PRS-A) and Portal Ridge Solar C LLC (PRS-C).

PRS-B also submitted for filing an Amended and Restated Generator Interconnection Agreement and Distribution Service Agreement Co-Tenancy Agreement between the three project companies and Portal Ridge Solar LLC (referred to as the “Manager”).

  • PRS-B is developing and will own and operate an approximately 20-MW (nameplate) solar photovoltaic facility located in Los Angeles, California. The PRS-B Facility will interconnect to the distribution system owned and operated by Southern California Edison (SCE) located within the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) balancing authority area. The output of the PRS-B Facility is fully committed under a 20-year power purchase agreement with the SCE. PRS-B plans to file with the commission a self-certification as a qualifying small power production facility (QF). PRS-B expects to place its facility into commercial operation during the first quarter of 2017.
  • PRS-C is developing and will own and operate an approximately 11.4-MW (nameplate) solar photovoltaic facility located in Los Angeles, California, within one mile of the PRS-B Facility. The PRS-C Facility will interconnect to the distribution system owned and operated by SCE located within the CAISO BAA. The output of the PRS-C Facility is fully committed under a 20-year power purchase agreement with Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). PRS-C plans to file with the commission a self-certification as a QF. PRS-C expects to place its facility into commercial operation during the fourth quarter of 2016.
  • PRS-A may in the future develop, own, and operate an approximately 18.5-MW (nameplate) solar photovoltaic facility located in Los Angeles, California, near the PRS-B Facility and the PRS-C Facility.
