ESA Boston Solar approved for 5-MW project in North Carolina

ESA Boston Solar LLC was approved Oct. 25 by the North Carolina Utilities Commission on its Aug. 9 application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project located off of the west side of Boston Road/US 501, north of Bowmantown Road, at Roxboro in Person County, N.C.

The projected date for the $12.35 million facility to come on-line is Dec. 30, 2017. The applicant’s general plan for sale of the electricity to be generated is to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Progress.
