Cimarron Bend Assets LLC filed on Oct. 5 at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a Cimarron Shared Facilities Agreement with Cimarron Bend Wind Project I LLC (CB1), Cimarron Bend Wind Project II LLC (CB2), Cimarron Bend Wind Project III LLC (CB3) and Enel Kansas LLC.
CB1 is a wholly-owned subsidiary ofCimarron Bend Wind Holdings I LLC. CB2 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Enel Kansas. Enel Kansas is also the direct owner of Cimarron Bend Wind Holdings LLC, which is in turn the direct owner of Cimarron Bend Assets. CB3 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Enel Kansas. Accordingly, these companies are affiliates, to the extent that they are each either directly or indirectly owned by a single upstream owner, Enel Kansas.
- CB1 is developing a wind project with a nameplate capacity rating of 200 MW located in Clark County, Kansas. CB1 has filed notice with the commission of the CB1 Project’s status as an exempt wholesale generator (EWG). CB1 will apply for market-based rate authority from the commission prior to generating test power. CB1 anticipates that its project will be in commercial operation by January 2017.
- CB2 is developing a wind project with a nameplate capacity rating of 200 MW also located in Clark County, Kansas, and adjacent to the CB1 Project. CB2 has filed notice with the commission of the project’s status as an EWG. CB2 will apply for market-based rate authority prior to generating test power. CB2 anticipates that the project will be placed in commercial operation by early 2017.
- CB3 has rights to develop a wind project with a nameplate capacity of up to 200 MW, also located in Clark County, Kansas, and adjacent to the CB1 and CB2 projects. Commencement of construction of the CB3 Project has not yet occurred.
Cimarron Bend Assets, which is owned by each of CB1, CB2, CB3 and Enel Kansas, was formed for the purpose of constructing and owning the Shared Transmission Facilities that will be utilized solely for each of the wind projects. The Shared Transmission Facilities include, but are not limited to, the CB2 Substation, the CB2 Transmission Line, the CB1 Substation, the CB1 Transmission Line, the Switchyard, the transmission line from the Switchyard to the Point of Interconnection, the projects’ individual meters, and any needed access roads.
