Central Virginia cooperative issues energy RFP

Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) on Oct. 11 for energy block products in 2018 and 2019.

CVEC is seeking to solicit indicative proposals to serve its energy requirements, including a 7×24 summer seasonal energy block product for 2018 and a 7×24 annual energy block product for Calendar Year 2019.

Product 1 for the 7X24 block involves 16.4 MW. Product 2 for CY 2019 involves 6.3 MW.

Proposals submitted in response to this RFP are due by 5 p.m. ET Oct. 18. The RFP process is being handled by Georgia-based GDS Associates.

“CVEC may accept a combination of alternatives from one or more suppliers.  CVEC is also asking that bidders respond with comments to CVEC’s EEI Master Contract and Confirm if not transacting under an already existing EEI,” according to the Oct. 11 announcement.

CVEC is a member-owned, electric distribution cooperative that 35,000 account holders in 14 Virginia counties. It is based in the Nelson County community of Lovingston.
