Carolina Solar Energy II seeks okay for 5-MW North Flat River project

The North Flat River Farm Solar LLC affiliate of Caroiina Soiar Energy II LLC applied Oct. 4 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac)/7-MW (dc) photovoltaic solar generator to be located outside of the city of Roxboro in Person County, North Carolina.

It will be located on approximately 30 to 40 acres of land off Wesleyan Road, at 1300 Flat River Church Road, outside the city of Roxboro.

The projected date for the $8 million facility to come on-line is July 31, 2018. The applicant plans to sell all electricity to Duke Energy Progress under a 15 year fixed price Renewable Power Purchase Agreement (RPPA).
