Blue Green Energy wins North Carolina nod on 4-MW Sun Farm VIII project

Sun Farm VIII LLC was approved Oct. 26 by the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for a 4-MW (ac) solar farm in Nash County, North Carolina.

The site address is 6582 N US Hwy 301, Battleboro, N.C. The Aug. 8 application said this $9.5 million facility is projected to come on-line as of Dec. 15, 2017. The applicant plans to sell the electricity to be generated to Virginia Electric and Power d/b/a Dominion North Carolina Power in accordance with its standard offer power purchase agreement.
