
Howardtown Farm LLC applied Oct. 12 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a a 10-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project to be located at 479 Shaw Mill Road, St. Pauls, Robeson County, North Carolina.
The facility will consist of approximately 46,892 PV solar modules affixed to ground-mounted racks supported on driven piles. The system will utilize four inverters and will be tied to the grid operated by Lumbee River Electric Membership Corp.
The facility is projected to come on-line as of Nov. 30, 2017. The electricity generated will be sold to the North Carolina Electric Membership Corp. under a 10-year power purchase agreement. The projected cost of the facility is $20 million.
