34-MW Innovative Solar 47 project in North Carolina to be lit up in March 2017

Innovative Solar 47 LLC filed on Oct. 28 at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a notice of self-certification as an Exempt Wholesale Generator for its 33.8-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project in Maxton, Robeson County, North Carolina.

This facility will interconnect with the Duke Energy Progress-controlled grid. The facility has an executed power purchase agreement with Duke Energy Progress for all of its output. This project is expected to begin generating test energy in March 2017.

Innovative Solar 47 is an indirect subsidiary of Arowana International Ltd., an Australian public company, New Energy Solar, an Australian entity, and Firstar Development LLC, a Delaware limited liability company.
