Salt Energy pursues interconnect at PJM for 5.4-MW solar project in Maryland

SALT Energy Group has proposed a solar generating facility located at 12630 Earthcare Road, Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland, said a PJM Interconnection study on the project dated September 2016.

The installed facilities will have a total capability of 5.4 MW with 2.1 MW of this output being recognized by PJM as capacity. The proposed commercial operation date for this project is on or before March 31, 2018. This study does not imply a Potomac Edison (the interconnecting transmission owner) commitment to this in-service date.

This project, under PJM queue #AB2-004, will interconnect with the Potomac Edison distribution system by tapping onto the 34.5 kV line between the Halfway and Milnor substations.

The intent of this Combined Feasibility and System Impact Study is to determine a plan, with approximate cost and construction time estimates, to connect the subject generation interconnection project to the PJM network at a location specified by SALT Energy Group. It is a mid-point in a PJM queue process that leads eventually to an Interconnection Service Agreement.
