PJM Interconnection on Sept. 7 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission an executed Interconnection Service Agreement with Chesapeake Solar LLC and interconnecting transmission owner Virginia Electric and Power for a solar project with PJM Queue Position #AA2-180.
PJM also filed a notice of cancellation for an Interim Interconnection Service Agreement between the same parties that had an effective date of April 20, 2016,
The Chesapeake Solar ISA facilitates the interconnection to the PJM system of a 20-MW solar facility located in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Chesapeake Solar ISA indicates that Chesapeake Solar shall have Capacity Interconnection Rights in the amount of 14 MW. The location is at Hwy 17 and Ballahack Road in Chesapeake.
On or before Dec. 31, 2016, Chesapeake Solar under the ISA must demonstrate commercial operation of all generating units.

Virginia Electric and Power d/b/a Dominion Virginia Power said Feb. 8 that it is partnering with SunEnergy1 to install 91,803 solar panels at a 20-MW solar farm in Chesapeake, Va. SunEnergy1 will lease the 250-acre site, located off Ballahack Road and U.S. Highway 17. Dominion Virginia Power, a unit of Dominion Resources (NYSE: D), will purchase the output of the facility, including energy, capacity and renewable energy credits, under a 20-year power purchase agreement. Commercial operations are expected to begin later this year.
