North Carolina commission okays 5-MW Clarksbury Solar project of FLS Energy

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on Sept. 27 approved a June 1 application from Clarksbury Solar LLC for a certificate of public convenience and necessity for construction of a 4.999-MW (ac) solar facility to be located at 7997 U.S. Highway 64 East, Thomasville, Davidson County, North Carolina.

The applicant, which is an affiliate of FLS Energy, plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Carolinas.

The projected date for the facility to come on-line is Sept. 1, 2017. The projected annual sales are 9,800,000 AC kWh.
