Casey Solar seeks North Carolina approval for photovoltaic project

Casey Solar LLC applied Sept. 20 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a photovoltaic project to be located on E. Greensboro Chapel Hill Road, Snow Camp, Alamance County, N.C.

The projected date for the $15 million facility to come on-line is Dec. 31, 2017. All electricity generated will be sold to Duke Energy Carolinas, with the project also interconnecting into the Duke Energy Carolinas system.

Notable is that at various points in the application the company gives the size of the facility as 5-MW (ac) net, and also 4-MW (ac) nameplate.

Listed project contact information is: Ryan Stair, Casey Solar LLC, 27 Pearl St., Floor 4, Portland, ME 04101,, telephone (207) 899-1123. A companion application for a renewable energy registration for this project is on the letterhead of Sunlight Partners LLC, with the same office address in Maine.
