Southern terminates interconnect for 20-MW Duke solar project in Georgia

Southern Company Services on Aug. 5 notified the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission of the termination of a Small Generator Interconnection Agreement with Duke Energy Renewables Solar LLC, dated Aug. 5, 2015, for a 20-MW solar project in Georgia.

On July 22, Duke Energy Renewables notified Southern that it wanted to terminate the Interconnection agreement. Southern determined that no payments have been made by Duke Energy Renewables, Southern has not performed any work for which payment is owed by Duke Energy Renewables and, therefore, no reconciliation is needed.

This project was to interconnect into the system of Georgia Power, which is along with Southern Company Services a subsidiary of Southern Co. (NYSE: SO).
